Invitation to the 2024 WURI Global Conference

The WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS for INNOVATION (WURI) 2024

WURI invite the President of  Universities to the 2024 WURI Global Conference, which will be held from September 24 to 26, 2024, in Seoul, Korea.

WURI, the World University Rankings for Innovation, is a university evaluation model that assesses the innovativeness of projects pursued by over 30,000 universities worldwide.

Participating in WURI is straightforward: universities submit descriptions of their innovative projects using the WURI template. The WURI Secretariat appoints university presidents as evaluators, who select the top 10 cases in each evaluation category. The results are then compiled and announced by the WURI Secretariat both by category and overall.

Since the first announcement in June 2020, WURI has grown significantly, with the number of participating universities increasing from 100 in 2020 to over 1,000 in 2024.

The evaluation categories have also expanded from 4 in 2020 to 13 in 2024. Universities can apply in one or multiple categories from the following:

(A1) Student Support and Engagement,

(A2) Student Mobility and Openness,

(A3) Industrial Application,

(A4) Entrepreneurial Spirit,

(A5) Crisis Management,

(A6) Social Responsibility,

(A7) Generative AI Applications,

(A8) Support for Global Resilience (Russian-Ukraine War),

(B1) Leadership

(B2) Funding,

(B3) Infrastructure/Technology,

(B4) Symbol/ Promotion

(B5) Culture/Values.

Over the past five years of WURI Rankings, numerous university innovation cases have been discovered, totaling over 7,000 cases, including 2,890 in 2024 alone. These are truly treasures of university innovation.

Recently, we have received two main requests from many university presidents. First, they wish to benchmark highly innovative, implementable, and impactful cases to use at their own universities. Second, they want to share their successful innovation projects widely to help other universities.

In response, the WURI Secretariat has decided to host the 1st WURI Global Conference (WGC24) as follows:

- Date: September 24-26, 2024
- Venue: Finland Tower, Seoul, Korea
- First registration deadline for presenters: June 30, 2024
- Second registration deadline for attendees: July 31, 2024

We invite the President university's innovation leader, and the ranking officer to join us at the WURI Global Conference, where we will present, share, and learn from successful university innovation cases.
